Code Diary is built in public. Each release is here with the changes that matter — the newest build first, then the milestones that led to it. The desktop app updates itself in the background; you can also check from Settings → About.

Code Diary 1.5.5

Code Diary comes to macOS, with a rebuilt block-based editor, multi-select batch actions, reorganized settings, and more reliable groups that stay put across your devices.

  • Official macOS build

    Code Diary now ships a native macOS package alongside Windows and Linux, using the same Ambryonic account and background auto-updates.

  • Block-based entry editor

    Compose entries as ordered blocks — code, links, and notes — with clearer titles and drag-to-reorder, so multi-step fixes read the way you saved them.

  • Multi-select batch actions

    Select multiple entries at once to group or delete them together from a single toolbar, instead of one entry at a time.

  • Choose where deletes apply

    Deleting a synced entry now lets you remove it from this device only or from the cloud too, so a local cleanup no longer has to touch your other devices.

  • Reorganized settings

    Settings are grouped into focused tabs, including a dedicated Data & Backup area for export, import, and manual backups, with cleaner switch controls.

  • Groups that stay put

    Groups and their entry membership now sync per account and survive switching accounts, so entries no longer fall back to “Unassigned”.

    A premium sign-up-first screen that opens with what Code Diary is for and shows what Free and Pro each include at a glance.

  • Account-creation consent

    Sign-up now asks you to agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, with an optional opt-in for product updates.

  • Sign-out data safety warning

    A confirmation prompt that prevents accidental local data loss when signing out or switching accounts.

  • Reliable Linux update prompts

    Debian and RPM installs now get a clear “new version available” prompt that opens the downloads page, instead of an update that quietly never installs.

Workspace polish & sync

A run of quality-of-life releases that tightened the everyday workspace and extended cloud sync to groups.

  • Unified sticky header

    Entry title and the sorting bar combined under one sticky header that stays in reach while you scroll a long diary.

  • Group pinning & sync

    Pin and reorder groups from a sidebar menu; groups and their pinned state now sync to your account with row-level security.

  • Native clipboard menus

    Right-click copy, cut, and paste, with clipboard writes routed through the main process so copying always works.

  • Steadier Linux tray

    Fixed a D-Bus tray leak and a quit bug on Linux, and added a restart prompt when a tray change needs one.

Payments & billing

Code Diary Pro went live with a secure, browser-delegated subscription flow and account-level billing visibility.

  • Razorpay subscriptions

    Pro upgrades through a sandboxed checkout window, with Supabase Edge Functions creating orders and verifying signatures server-side.

  • Billing in Settings

    A Settings area for billing, a profile snapshot, and login history, plus Pro-gated cloud sync.

  • Security hardening

    Database migrations for identity, subscriptions, and payments, and a fix for a pre-login email-enumeration weakness.

Accounts, sign-in & sync

One Ambryonic account across the website, Windows, and Linux, with email/Google sign-in, OTP verification, and the in-app auto-updater.

  • Authentication

    Sign in, sign up, sign out, and persistent sessions via Supabase, with email/password and Google options.

  • Email OTP & password reset

    Verification codes with a countdown timer, a forgot-password flow, and clearer messaging for unverified accounts.

  • Auto-update & cloud sync

    The in-app updater (with a Check-for-updates button in Settings) and local-to-cloud diary synchronization arrived in this line.

  • System tray option

    An opt-in system tray, disabled by default, that you can toggle from Settings.
