Frequently asked

What happens to my saved work if Pro expires?

Your existing entries remain readable, copyable, and exportable. If your workspace is above the Free limits, new additions and Pro services pause until you reduce usage or renew.

Can I use one account on Windows, macOS, and Linux?

Yes. Your Ambryonic account works across the website and all Code Diary desktop builds.

Is Code Diary only for commands?

No. Save commands, solved errors, snippets, explanations, and useful AI responses as reusable entries.

How do I update Code Diary?

Check the downloads page for the current version and release notes, download the package for your operating system, and install it over the existing release after closing the app.

Do I need an account to download Code Diary?

No. Installers are hosted as public release assets and download immediately from the downloads page — no sign-in required. You only need an account inside the app to sync entries and manage your subscription.

Which features require Pro?

Pro expands the entry and group limits, allows unlimited tags, and enables eligible cloud sync, AI parsing, and priority support services.

Why did I not receive a signup code or link when registering?

If you have already signed in or registered using Google with that email address, attempting to sign up again with a password will not send a new verification code for security reasons. Please sign in using the "Continue with Google" button instead.

What should I include in a support request?

Include your operating system, Code Diary version, account email, expected result, actual result, and the exact error message when one is available.

What happens to my data if I sign out or change accounts?

If you sign back in with the same account, your synced entries will restore automatically. However, if you sign in with a different account (especially a Free tier account), your local database is overwritten to match that account, which will permanently delete your existing local entries. Always create a manual backup via Settings → General before changing accounts.
